With ShoreTel 7, we
continue to enhance ShoreTel's ease-of-use for both end users and IT
through additions of personalization options, tools to decrease the
cost of implementation, and new switch models.
ShoreTel 7 combines the
features of legacy products with the flexibility, manageability,
usability, and cost-effectiveness of ShoreTel's unique VoIP
technology. ShoreTel 7 is the only solution in the market that
scales from 10 to 10,000 users with a single hardware and software
platform while delivering upon the feature expectations of a small
office or large enterprise.
The bottom line is that
ShoreTel customers are more satisfied with their system than any
other vendor on the market.
Personalization
ShoreTel 7 offers
Programmable Toolbars for the end user which allows them to perform
many telephony and browsing operations just by clicking a button in
Personal Call Manager. This feature has also been extended to the
Contact Center so that end users can access call control functions
and contact center operations from a single, unified interface.
The Auto Find Me feature
has been enhanced by automating call forwarding behavior. A call can
now immediately be sent to a destination without requiring any digit
entry. Additionally Escalation Notification has been added that
allows transfer of a message until it has been heard. This enables
support groups to offer round-the-clock service to their customers.
ShoreTel 7 allows
company personalization by offering the ability to load custom ring
tones on IP phones. This can allow end users to distinguish the
sound of their phone from that of their neighbors' phones with a
custom ring tone.
Simplification for IT
An import utility has
been added that allows a system administrator to make off line
changes across all users with a single action. This new feature
improves the ease with which a system administrator can modify
information for large groups of users.
The latest ShoreTel
release offers the Auto-delete by Number of Days feature, which
allows a system administrator to set a maximum time limit for the
storage of voice mail messages. The system administrator can set a
maximum time limit for retention of voice mail messages to save
space and reduce their administrative work load.
Additional Switch
Models
ShoreTel is introducing
four new switch models - the ShoreGear-50, ShoreGear-90,
ShoreGear-220T1 and the ShoreGear-220E1. The addition of new
hardware models allow site configurations to achieve a higher IP
phone density in a smaller rack foot print. The new HW family
additions also allows smaller product steps to ensure fine tuning of
the switch HW required to meet the customer's requirements.
